FLYING AWAY

Today I left for Guiyang/Guizhou for the China International Alcoholic Drink Expo with my co-worker, Tony.  This post is just about the flight.  I am probably going to do a couple post about the expo, which starts tomorrow. Here is a little about the flight.

Bad:
- The flight being delayed and sitting on the plane for three hours before taking off. Better waiting than flying with the harsh weather.
- Airplane food.  I don't think the lunch fish concoction goes for the best scent. Especially when the airplane is using recycled air.

Funny:
- The lady next to us telling Tony that his wife is beautiful. (I think she was secretly hitting on him).
- People bringing their own sauces for the airplane food.

Awesome:
- Getting to read my freshly downloaded book, Water for Elephants, during the long flight.  I couldn't put it down!
-As we were coming into the airport, the sun was shining.  The lady next to me told me in Chinese, that I brought the sun out. People of this area are so nice!

A LITTLE GATHERING AND A LITTLE WINE

Sorry it has been so long! Life is Shanghai has been treating me well.  I have met so many wonderful people here in and have built a little Shanghai family.  Last night I thought I would change things up and not go out to dinner.  Instead I invited a few friends over and we had some food and wine.  I bought a few bottles from our wine shop and everyone else brought some treats.  I choose to bring the Manu Sauvignon Blanc and ETC Cabernet Sauvignon.  I asked my friends to try and only speak Chinese around me, so I can learn the language.  In the end, we had to mix it all with English/Chinese to actually have me somewhat involved in conversation.  My friends that were over were from China and Brazil.  It was fun to bring all the cultures together. We talk about world traveling and things currently going on across the globe and mixed it will some delicious wine and food.

You will soon be hearing and seeing my first KTV experience for my friend Irène's going away party.
